Practical ideas, useful guides, and things worth knowing
Money For My Beer started with a simple idea: finding useful information shouldn’t be harder than it needs to be.
I’m Ryan Joshua Dela Cruz, the founder and the person behind Money For My Beer. I started this website in September 2019 with a simple goal: to find and share legitimate ways to make extra money online.
Since then, the site has grown into something much bigger.
Today, Money For My Beer covers money-making ideas, business, technology, SEO, security, gardening, travel, beer, reviews, and practical guides. The topics may vary, but the goal remains the same: to research interesting subjects and turn what I learn into useful, easy-to-understand content.
Why I Started Money For My Beer

I’ve always liked the idea of making a little extra money on the side.
Not because I wanted to get rich overnight, but because even a little extra money can make everyday life more enjoyable. It can pay for a cold beer after a long day, dinner with friends, a weekend trip, a hobby, or simply give you a little more breathing room.
That’s where the name Money For My Beer came from.
The beer is really just the metaphor.
The bigger idea is about finding practical opportunities, learning useful things, and making the most of what you have.
Meet Ryan
I’m Ryan, a technical architect who enjoys building things on the internet and figuring out how things work.
By day, I work in technology, where I design and build software, apps, games, websites, and digital systems. Outside of work, I spend a lot of time researching ideas that catch my attention, experimenting with new things, and learning from other people who know more than I do.
Money For My Beer is where I get to share some of that curiosity.
I write and edit the content published here, and I try to approach each topic from the perspective of someone who is genuinely trying to understand it.
I’m not an expert on everything I write about, and I don’t pretend to be.
When a subject requires specialized expertise, I believe it’s important to rely on authoritative sources and make that distinction clear. My role is often to research, organize, explain, and make information easier to understand.
What You’ll Find Here
Money For My Beer has evolved considerably since it started in 2019.
Money & Side Hustles
The site began with making extra money online, and that’s still an important part of what we cover.
You’ll find articles about side hustles, online opportunities, ways to earn extra income, and questions about whether particular opportunities are actually worth your time.
I especially like investigating the difference between something that sounds good and something that is actually useful.
Business & Technology
Technology is a big part of my professional life, so naturally it has become part of the site too.
I write about technology, websites, business ideas, Technology, online security, and other subjects that I find interesting or useful.
Guides & How-Tos
Sometimes you don’t need a 3,000-word explanation. You just need someone to explain how to do something clearly.
That’s what I try to do with our practical guides.
Whether it’s understanding a service, solving a problem, learning something new, or figuring out whether something is worth trying, the goal is to make the information practical.
Gardening, Travel & Other Interests
Not everything has to be about making money.
Money For My Beer has also grown to include things I enjoy outside of work, including gardening, travel, beer, and other subjects that I find worth exploring.
I think that’s part of what makes the site more interesting. It’s not just a collection of articles targeting keywords. It’s a place where I can follow my curiosity and share what I learn.
How I Research and Write
There is already plenty of content on the internet.
I don’t want Money For My Beer to simply add more noise.
When researching an article, I try to start with reliable and relevant sources, verify important claims, and distinguish between established facts, opinions, and personal experiences.
For topics involving money, security, technology, or other areas where inaccurate information can cause problems, I take extra care with the information I present.
I also try to keep things understandable.
You shouldn’t need to be an expert to understand an article written for you.
When I make a mistake, discover that information has changed, or find a better way to explain something, I want to update the content rather than leave outdated information sitting on the site.
What You Can Expect From Us
Money For My Beer isn’t here to promise overnight wealth or pretend that every opportunity is a hidden gold mine.
Some opportunities work.
Some don’t.
Some are worth your time.
Some aren’t.
And sometimes the most useful answer is simply “no, this probably isn’t worth it.”
That’s the kind of information I want to provide.
My goal is to create content that is:
- Useful, rather than written simply to fill a page.
- Practical, with information you can actually do something with.
- Honest, especially when something has significant limitations or risks.
- Research-based, using reliable sources wherever appropriate.
- Easy to understand, without unnecessary jargon.
- Transparent, about who is behind the site and how the site operates.
A Note About Recommendations and Affiliate Links
Some articles on Money For My Beer may contain affiliate links or other links that can earn the site a commission if you purchase something or sign up for a service.
If you use one of these links, you generally won’t pay more because of it.
However, a commission should not be confused with an endorsement. I don’t want Money For My Beer to recommend something simply because it pays.
When I recommend something, the goal is for the recommendation to be useful to the reader first.

Why “Money For My Beer” Still Exists
When I started this website in 2019, I wasn’t trying to build a huge media company.
I simply wanted a place to collect legitimate ways to make extra money online and share what I found.
Over the years, that simple idea turned into something I enjoy much more than I expected.
I enjoy researching.
I enjoy building things.
I enjoy learning.
And I especially enjoy finding something interesting, figuring out how it works, and explaining it to someone else.
That’s really what Money For My Beer has become.
A place to explore useful ideas, learn something new, and hopefully make life a little better along the way.
